V-log ~ Beth and Cody ~ Blithewold Mansion – 8/27/10

This is my attempt at our first DJ Video Log or Vlog.   Note to self, always look at the lens and not the viewfinder.   We had an amazing time, coming off 5 days of rain, we had perfect weather and a spectacular sunset.  Cody and Beth were tons of fun, they danced the night away with family and friends. Congrats%Main Event Weddings

Amy & Craig ~ Alpine CC

Staff for this event : Photographers Michelle Carpenter & Renee Justras

Amy & Craig had a beautiful day at the Alpine CC in Cranston. This funny sweet couple were surrounded by friends and family and celebrated in style!. We went to the State house for formal pictures although we did stay more traditional with the imagery these two soon kicked it up a bit with some playfulness and flirted with the sexy images a bit. From there we headed out to the Alpine Larry from Engagements was there to rock the floor! I have no doubt the guest all had sore feet the next day since I don’t recall a moment that anyone sat down. I also got to work with another great friend Mike Picard that day. Yes that’s right, you don’t need to book all of our services. Just book the ones you love the most! We love working with other wedding vendors in fact we are probably friends with all of them which works out wonders for our couples. Amy and Craig really are an amazing couple and it was a joy being with them on their wedding day. I wish the two of you Love, Joy & Happiness!

Stephanie & Jim ~ Squantum Association

Staff for this event: Photographer Michelle Carpenter, DJ & Event Host Bob Carpenter

Stephanie and Jim were amazing to work with on their wedding day! Quote from Stephanie “We both prefer photojournalistic style of photography, candids, and capturing as many guests as we can. We’re not big into the posed shots, but will want to include some for the family sake. In general, we are not very formal, and our famililies are goofy and have great sense of humor” Great sense of humor was an understatement, between the two of them the bridal party and my quick wit I went home with bruises on my sides from laughing so much. This couple not only were silly but also incredibly sexy which you can tell from their images. I really got wrapped up in two moments. One with the grandparents at the end of the ceremony when gram-pa was crying because his granddaughter was so beautiful and he was so happy to be there. The second time was when the grooms brother took grandma for a spin on the dance floor to Chuck Berry’s Sweet Little Sixteen, I swear looking at her eyes she was thinking of the days when she was at the ice cream shop bee bopping. Both times I caught myself crying. It really is an awesome feeling when a couple’s family invites us in to there lives for the celebration and makes us feel like we too are family. Stephanie & Jim Bob and I had a wonderful time at your wedding, we wish the two of you all the happiness life can offer

Photo Booth

Our Photo Booth went out over the weekend to Jen and Joe’s wedding at the Tiffany Ballroom and let’s just say it was a very active corner of the room. Jen & Joe participated in our crazy photo booth contest last year and won a photo booth for their wedding. Their winning image which we can’t show you because of it’s nature involved two apples a banana and some rope, don’t worry no fruit were injured during the image. Anyhow I thought I’d share some of the fun images Jen & Joe received of their guests. It’s amazing what some people will do behind a closed curtain!

Photobooth information can be found here : PHOTOBOOTH

All of the images from the photo booth are hi resolution meaning you could print them as large as 48x 64 or larger if you wanted. Images are posted to a viewing web site within 24 hrs and the bride and groom get a hi res disk with copyrights mailed out right away so that they may add them to the thank you cards.

Our photo booth can only make limited appearances so call today to reserve it for your wedding day!

Jessica and Kevin – Aldrich Mansion – June/12/2010

Jessica and Kevin, wanted an old school dance feel to their wedding.  There were only a few songs that they really wanted me to play, and they left the bulk of music up to me except of course their formal music.  I really loved their choice for a first dance, Madonna’s – Crazy for you !!!!  I absolutely love that song, and it brought me back to the very first time I heard that song in my teens.  For the sake of keeping this blog entry short, I just wanted to say thank you to both of you, for being so gracious. Your heart felt thank you at the end of the evening is why I love my job so much. It was truly a magical evening, the place rocked of course.  People danced hard, both old and young, right to the very end.   Jessica you are gorgeous, and this video below captures how radiant both of you were on your wedding day.

THANK YOU !!!! Fantastic job.

Natashia & Brian ~ Venus DeMillo

Natashia and Brian, what an amazingly fun, and sexy couple ! Even through stormy weather these two smiled, told jokes, laughed and enjoyed their wedding day to the fullest!

Funny story – Many times we meet our couples months in advance sometimes years and honestly it is very hard to remember everyone’s faces. A friend of ours is getting married and she asked me to meet her at the bridal salon to pick out dresses. I arrive there early and had to wait, as I was waiting this very beautiful girl in a stunning gown kept peeking around the corner at me.  I was a tad embarrassed as I though she caught me starring. I kept thinking “wow,  what a lucky photographer  who will be capturing her wedding”. Well this very pretty bride approaches me and asks very nicely “Are you Michelle from Main Event?” shocked I answered yes she then proceeded to tell me that I was the photographer who was shooting her wedding on Saturday! Well embarrassed,  I got over it quick because  YAY, It was me who was shooting her wedding!! Natashia, Brian you were a joy to photograph and I can’t wait for our after wedding session!

Ryan and Caroline – Bel Mer Newport

Ryan and Caroline were recommended to me by a good friend.  Since both of them are from New York our first meeting was by phone.  Caroline has such a energetic and run personality, we hit it off immediately, I knew we were the perfect match.

The day of the wedding was gorgeous, the perfect temperature, perfect blue skies, and the perfect setting at Bel Mer.  As soon as they arrived with their bridal party we all starting singing and celebrating with high fives.  I knew then this party was going to be something exceptional.   When I went back into the ballroom before the guests arrived I started playing Reggae Music, some Sean Paul – Temperature and Ini Komozi – Hot Stepper, all the members of the bridal party were dancing and so it began.

I could really get carried away with this wedding, but suffice it to say from the moment I pressed play at 6:00, until  1 AM, I could not see the dancefloor, it was so packed.  I was suppose to end at 12:00 but Bel Mer allowed us to go to 1 AM.  So a big thank you to all the staff at Bel Mer.

Congrats guys, I hope you enjoy this beautiful highlights video.

This wedding is absolutely stunning, and to be honest its a bit of a mystery to me.  Joseph was referred to us by past clients and he booked our video services just several weeks prior to his wedding.  So unfortunately we didnt get the chance to know them better, but thank you for selecting our company.  :) We hope you both enjoy this lovely highlights video.

What a wonderful wedding day! We love Michelle, Jeremy and the gang at Main Event so much. You guys truly made our day so special and unique. The lengths that you will go to snap the perfect shot is incredible… We can’t wait to share this film with friends and family. Thanks so much for capturing our precious memories so perfectly!

Randi & Chris ~ Alpine Country Club

As Renee pulled up to the house that morning, she had a flash back that she been there before. Renee had done Randi’s sisters wedding a few years back, and it was refreshing to be able to work with their family for a second time. It’s also a great honor that the family enjoyed Main Event’s services so much that they wanted us back!  Randi and Chris had an awesome day for an outdoor ceremony, which took place on the beautiful grounds of the Alpine Country Club. The grooms brother gave an interesting speech about the ABC’s of love, marriage and advice. The rest of the night DJ Kenny filled the dance floor with good friends and tons of dancing.

Bethany & Raymond ~ Crystal Lake

Bethany & Raymond had a beautiful ceremony at St Pius V Church in Providence follow by a beautiful Lake side reception at Crystal Lake Golf Course.  Bethany wore a custom hand sewn gown which highlighted pieces of her mother’s wedding gown. Bethany and Raymond are truly a family oriented couple, the strong relationships between themselves and their families were quite evident in the days events. The sister of the bride’s speech was probably the most unique that I have seen in decades! She sang her toast, to the Fresh Prince tune she told the story of “how this young girl was sitting in her wedding gown”. The father daughter was laden with comic relief, the dance which was choreographed by the bride and her dad to feature a small skit. The skit ended in a very humorous cowboy gun  whirling dad laying the law down to his new son in law! The evening ended in laughter and dance. Some weddings stand out and this is one we will remember for a very long time! We wish Bethany & Raymond lots of Love and Happiness!
