Tonight I spent most of the evening surfing Facebook and found my self stalking my brides sites looking at all the images I took for them throughout the season. It’s so funny that while I do edit all the images myself I found that I had already forgotten some really beautiful and emotion filled images that I had taken throughout the year. More importantly I was humbled by all the remarks from family and friends about the images I had captured for my brides.
This particular wedding stands out for me this evening, let my tell you why
The first time I met Justine and Michael was at Justine’s sister Kristin’s wedding. Immediately Bob and I were welcomed into the family with open arms. The whole family came in to plan the nuptials of Kristin’s wedding which was a warm family based event that took place at the Ocean Cliff three years ago. We were thrilled when Justine decided to also use our services for her wedding since we already connected with the family and were excited to share in her wedding day. The morning of Justine’s wedding I showed up at the house just like I had done 3 yrs prior for her sister. The house had not changed much from the last time I was there except for the many images hanging on the walls from Kristin’s wedding. I will say I was shocked it is not often that we as photographers get a chance to go back into the home of our brides parents and see how they have utilized the many images that we capture throughout the day. Yes of course we see the album but walls and hall entries with family and memories from a day which was so dominant in their lives all captured by me, well it’s enough to bring anyone to tears. As a photographer I understand how important it is to capture the right moment and that the image captured is of optimal quality for the client to enjoy for a life time, but never has it resignation more for me than when I looked up at the wall of the finely printed and mounted images hanging on the wall that morning.
Tonight, Justine’s status came up and I noticed she had again changed her profile picture. She has done so religiously since she received her disk. I clicked on the image and it brought me to the uploaded wedding images which I captured, I then started to read the comments. Again another moment of self awareness, the images which I had taken can affect the lives of so many people long after the wedding.
Justine & Michael’s staff for the day were Bob as disc jockey, Neal disc jockey assistant, Jeremy for videography, Michelle Carpenter as lead photographer and Renee as second photographer
Other vendors for this day included stunning floral decor from Golden Gate Florist and a delectable yummy cake by Scrumptions the venue provided the gourmet meal for the guests Castle Hill Newport RI
